We have tried a couple times to make fresh mozzarella without much success. The end product always came out hard and rubbery. It tasted fine but the texture was awful. We decided it was a result of the kind of milk we were using. So we got on the internet to try to find a dairy or store that sold raw milk. I was surprised to find a store in Orem called Real Foods Market that sells raw milk. So we bought a gallon for about $7 and tried it out. It worked! I was so excited to make homemade mozzarella that not only tasted good but was smooth and stretchy. We cut it up with some tomatoes and basil from our garden and drizzled it with olive oil. Check out http://www.realmilk.com/ to find places where raw milk is sold near you.

oh my word, nate is going to be so jealous! that looks amazing! good work you two.
You know what is good, put all that stuff on a good crusty bread and make paninis. I just made them today with tomatoes, basil, fresh mozz(not as fresh as yours), and turkey. Yum Yum! And you have all the ingredients in your backyard! Lucky.
It was the milk!
Woo-hoo! That looks like some seriously delicious stuff. And I think 7 bucks is a pretty sweet deal for raw milk. Congrats.
That's very impressive! I am awful in the kitchen.
Yeah, we will definitely keep the name Oliver around for when we have another boy. We're pretty set on a girl's name, but there are really 2 names we love, so we'll see!
What about you guys, any thoughts of another baby? Are you still living in Provo now that you've graduated?
Go Larsens! I am also impressed!
